A container of your own
On shared hosting, your site competes with every other site on the machine for memory and processor time. When a neighbour gets busy, your pages slow down.
At Puranode each website runs in its own nginx and PHP container with its own memory and processor share on NVMe storage. What another customer's site does has no effect on yours, and your files are not sitting in a directory beside anyone else's.
From empty container to live site
Four steps take you from an order to a working address.
- Order a plan. Your container is created for you.
- Your site is live on a free subdomain, name.sites.puranode.com, with HTTPS already working.
- Upload your files over SFTP, or install WordPress.
- When you are ready, point your own domain at it.
The free address and SSL
Every plan includes a subdomain under sites.puranode.com. It works from the first minute, so you can build and test before your own domain is involved.
SSL is the certificate that puts the padlock in the browser and encrypts traffic between your visitors and your site. It is included and set up automatically. There is nothing to buy and nothing to renew by hand.
Using your own domain
If you already own a domain, you keep it where it is. In your domain provider's settings you add one CNAME record pointing your address at your Puranode subdomain. No transfer is needed and you stay in control of the domain.
Puranode is hosting only. We do not sell domains or mailboxes, which keeps the pricing simple: you pay for the hosting and nothing is added on later.
Files, databases and plans
You have full file access over SFTP, and every plan includes MySQL, so anything written in PHP can run. Your site files are backed up automatically.
The Starter plan is €4.99 a month for one website with 1 GB of memory, one processor core, 15 GB of NVMe storage and one MySQL database. The price includes VAT, there is no setup fee and no minimum term, and larger plans are available when a site needs more.
